We have made our Terms and Conditions as simple and easy to understand as possible. If you have any questions then please contact us and we will be happy to talk to you.

YOUR PROPERTY

We usually only provide services to those properties with services of running water, drainage and electricity connections. We will only accept properties without services by prior agreement and reserve the right to make our minimum charge where we arrive at a property and cannot complete our services due to lack of services.

We want to provide you with a good service so ask that in return you give us as much information about your property in advance so we can make a fair assessment. If the information we have is vague or incorrect then the estimate we give you will be too. If in doubt do not sign your agreement and ask for advice.

The Little Cottage Cleaning Company wants to ensure a safe working environment for everyone. Therefore, we ask that your property be in a safe condition for us to work in and have safe access and egress.

​

If you have something you do not want us to touch, or a room you do not want us to go in, then please agree this with us first.  We cannot be held responsible if we do not receive prior notification.

 

We appreciate that everyone’s idea of clean is different. If you have told us your property is in a reasonable state and when we arrive we discover it is heavily soiled, or in a different state to that agreed, then we will reflect this by amending our estimate.  In the event of an estimate being amended because of inaccurate information supplied by you then you have the right to cancel subject to our minimum charges.

Our minimum charges are 50% of the service charge for regular cleaning services and £50 for one off cleaning services.

 

 If you wish to change your contract including hours and dates you must do so in writing (post or email) for regular cleaning services at least 24 hours in advance and for one off cleaning services at least 48 hours in advance.  Failure to do so will result in the minimum charge being made.

WHATS INCLUDED

Our End of/Pre-Tenancy cleaning service is to kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, dens and snugs, hallways and entrances. It can include vacuuming of all carpets and wet washing of hard floors. We can also endeavour to also remove occasional 'light spot staining' to carpets where possible. Where a full carpet clean has been included we will wash all fitted carpets and ask that you advise us of any specialist care instructions beforehand.  We cannot be held responsible if you do not advise us of this information. We can clean all skirting boards, sockets and switches plus remove dust from radiators. In bathrooms, we can clean and descale toilets, sinks, showers and baths plus make sure taps are polished. In kitchens, we can clean worktops, cupboards inside and out, washing machines, dryers and dishwashers on the outside (inside cleaning and descaling can also be included at a small extra cost), fridges and freezers inside and out (must be empty and defrosted), sinks and taps cleaned and descaled. Unlike others we also clean the inside of windows (which are accessible without the use of steps or ladders) and oven cleaning can be included. If your property is let furnished, we will agree additional costs with you beforehand.  We will not include anything else that has not been agreed beforehand.  This cleaning service can be fully tailored to your requirements

Our Moving in and Moving Out cleaning will be timed at your request subject to availability. As with End of Tenancy Service, our Moving in or Out cleaning service Cleaning is to kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, dens and snugs, hallways and entrances. It can include vacuuming of all carpets and wet washing of hard floors. We can also endeavour to also remove occasional 'light spot staining' to carpets where possible. Where a full carpet clean has been included we will wash all fitted carpets and ask that you advise us of any specialist care instructions beforehand. We cannot be held responsible if you do not advise us of this information.  We can clean all skirting boards, switches and sockets plus remove dust from radiators. In bathrooms, we can clean and descale toilets, sinks, showers and baths plus make sure taps are polished. Our After Builders cleaning can be more difficult to estimate due to the nature of the job being done so our pricing, as usual, is for an average property in average condition. We can clear up any remnants of building debris (subject to a maximum of 5  x 100 litre black sacks) and move as much of the building dust as possible! We can make sure new wall tiling is polished in bathrooms and kitchens plus floor tiling is wet cleaned. We can make sure floors are clean ready for their carpets or coverings to be fitted. As usual we can clean the insides of windows that are accessible without the use of steps or ladders. Please contact us if you have any additional specific requirements for a free quotation as we will not include anything else that has not been agreed beforehand and detailed on your client form.

Spring Cleaning usually means that your property is fully furnished. Our Spring Cleaning Service is to kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, dens and snugs, hallways and entrances. It can include vacuuming of all carpets and wet washing of hard floors. Where a full carpet clean has been included we will wash all fitted carpets and ask that you advise us of any specialist care instructions beforehand. We cannot be held responsible if you do not advise us of this information. We can dust all skirting boards and remove dust from radiators. In bathrooms, we can clean and descale toilets, sinks, showers and baths plus make sure taps are polished. In kitchens, we can clean worktops and cupboard fronts, washing machines, white goods on the outside (inside cleaning and descaling can also be included at an extra cost), sinks and taps cleaned and descaled. Unlike others we can also clean the inside of windows (which are accessible without the use of steps or ladders) and oven cleaning can be included. We can make sure we dust furniture, switches and light fittings and polish furniture that can be polished. We happy to include other things you require so please ask. Please note that we will move and clean under and behind furniture that can be easily moved by one person. If you require heavy furniture to be moved for cleaning purposes, then please contact us.  We will not include anything else that has not been agreed beforehand.

There will always be a minimum charge of 2 hours for our regular cleaning services. Our regular cleaning service package can include dusting furniture, vacuuming floors, wet washing hard surfaced floors, polishing furniture that can be polished, dusting skirting boards, removing cob webs, tidying up and making beds. We are happy to include any other services which must be detailed within your client form.

WHATS NOT INCLUDED

One off cleaning Services are designed to out your property back into a good cleanliness or a decent state to be habitable again. This means we won't include things like cleaning of soft furnishings, walls, ceilings (other than dusting and cobweb removal), upholstery washing, carpet washing, anything exterior such as windows/patios/garages/gardens, laundry services, lofts or attics etc. unless by prior agreement and detailed on your client form. However, if you do have any specific needs, or anything out of the ordinary, we can see if we can help if you discuss these with us beforehand.  We will not include anything else that has not been agreed beforehand and detailed on your client form.

Ordinarily it's your responsibility as the client to give access to the property and to secure the property following the service being carried out. If you cannot be there on the day, then we can arrange to have your keys collected or you can drop them off to one of our managers. We also ask that you disable any security alarms to allow us access or provide the details to one of our managers. If this is going to be a problem for you, please discuss it with us beforehand. We need to let you know that The Little Cottage Cleaning Company accepts no responsibility for any property left unsecured unless in the control of one of our managers.

The Little Cottage Cleaning Company try to be as upfront and honest as we can but there are always unforeseen things that we cannot plan for. This means that it may be possible that things crop up from time to time that we simply cannot do for you, or that we can do but at an additional cost. In any event, we will always discuss this with you first. If we decide that we cannot continue with the job for any reason, then we will let you know as soon as practicably possible. We will only charge you for the work we have done and NEVER for the work we haven't done. Equally, if you decide that you do not want us to continue with a job then we will only charge you for the work carried out. If you wish to cancel a booking before we start work, then we ask for at least 24 hours notice for regular cleaning services and 48 hours notice for one off cleaning services, or we will apply our minimum charge..

We reserve the right to refuse any request for our services or withdraw them at any time.  Where we have made the decision to do so we will only charge for services which have been supplied to date and never charge for work that we have not completed.  Where you have decided you do not wish us to proceed after work has already started, we will charge you for the work that has already been completed subject to our minimum charge.

We will charge you extra for any extra services we provide which were not agreed in the original estimate but we will ALWAYS ask for your permission first.

​

For one off cleaning services The Little Cottage Cleaning Company will bag any refuse and take a maximum of five one hundred litre  bags away. We will leave any additional bags outside of the property. If you wish us to remove these, we can do so but it may mean an extra cost. For regular cleaning services, we will use your existing arrangements for refuse collection.

​

We cannot reasonably be expected to list everything that may be excluded within your cleaning service so we only clean something if you tell us about it and agree it with us. This means that we won't include anything that has not already been agreed with you and detailed on your client form in addition to the standard cleaning service.

CHARGES AND PRICING

The charge quoted applies to all one-off cleaning services regardless of the time taken to complete the service. Please bear in mind that if your price will depend on lots of things such as size, state of cleanliness at the start of the clean, type of materials to be cleaned etc. Our minimum charge will never be below £50 regardless of the service.

Only one discount code, referral code, voucher or special offer per customer.  This includes members of their immediate family who reside with them.

​

3 hours free cleaning offer applies to new customers only who book more that one regular cleaning service on a daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly clean for a minimum of 3 hours.  Both the first and second clean must be carried out and paid for or the 3 hours free clean will be charged for retrospectively. 

​

We will give you an estimate based on the average time it takes to clean a similar property of a similar size to yours based on the information you give us. PLEASE NOTE we can only provide an estimate based on the information you provide, if in any doubt please ask for an inspection visit to be carried out where a more accurate estimate can be made.

​

If during the cleaning process we discover that the estimate we have provided will be more than that quoted we will stop work and ask for your permission to continue with the work.

Where quoted, The Little Cottage Cleaning Company will include normal cleaning products and normal cleaning equipment. If you want us to use something specific, then we're happy to discuss it with you first. For anything supplied by us outside of our normal cleaning products or equipment we will always give you the cost up front.

If you want to supply your own equipment, materials or anything for us to use, then we ask that all equipment or products supplied must be fit for purpose and in good working order.

The Little Cottage Cleaning Company do not automatically charge for additional staff to be present, we will always include this in our estimate and as usual, if our estimate needs to change we will always agree this with you in advance.

The Little Cottage Cleaning Company do not charge extra automatically for properties just because they have cats, dogs or other animals. However, our estimate may reflect or be amended to include any costs associated with cleaning up any 'accidents' caused by animals the same as if your property is particularly dirty.

One off cleaning services require 100% payment on the day unless agreed beforehand. This can be taken at the time of booking or on the day before work commences. Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer or debit/credit card. All prices agreed do not require VAT to be added as we are not currently VAT registered.

Regular cleaning services can be paid by cash, bank transfer, credit or debit card and where not paid in advance we ask that you pay within 7 calendar days of the work being carried out. One off cleaning services can also be paid this way by prior agreement.

INSURANCE AND LIABILITY

We operate will full liability cover via Hiscox Underwriting Ltd. Details can be provided upon request.

We will always ensure to take good care of your property but cannot be held liable for existing damage stains or spills that cannot be removed using normal cleaning methods, wear and tear, discolouring or damage which only becomes apparent once cleaning has taken place, damage to fragile items or to items that require specialist care where you have not previously advised us of the fragility or special care requirements, damage cause by events out of our control, damaged caused by normal cleaning methods which is beyond our control, or damage caused by third parties.  Where damage occurs, and is not within the scope of the insurance liability will be restricted to the cost of the service provided.  Where valid insurance claims are made any excess chargeable by the insurer will be borne by The Little Cottage Cleaning Company

By signing your client form or submitting a booking request you agree to be bound by our terms and conditions.Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
